While those might be the earliest signs that something is wrong, they aren’t the only ones. Your dog could stop chewing food as vigorously, start crying while they eat (or when it is time to eat!) and show red or bleeding gums. It can be tedious to start a new dental care routine, but if you can give your dog some soft dental treats, then it can make things better really quickly! Gently brush their teeth every few days and see if they start to feel better. Some chew toys double as toothbrushes, too!
